Two Factor Authentication

Estimated reading: 2 minutes 0 views

Implementing Two Factor Authentication in the BDRSuite Backup Server provides an additional security layer, enhancing data protection. This mechanism ensures access only to authorized individuals who possess both the correct login credentials and a verification code sent via email. By requiring this dual authentication, Two Factor Authentication significantly enhances account security, limiting the risk of unauthorized access to the BDRSuite Backup Server.

Check the box to enable the Two Factor Authentication. Once this feature is enabled, during the login process, you will have to provide an additional verification code along with your regular login credentials. This code will be sent to your registered email address.

Note: Two Factor Authentication is enabled for all user accounts on this server. You can customize the two-factor authentication for individual users from the ‘ Backup Server tab-> Users ‘.

Configuring SMTP settings is a mandatory step for enabling Multi-Factor Authentication in BDRSuite. The system relies on the SMTP settings to generate and send a verification codes via email. Ensure that the SMTP settings are accurately configured either by navigating to Backup Server  -> Settings -> SMTP and if not already configured then simply click on the Edit SMTP settings on this MFA page to configure the the SMTP Settings.
