VM Failback

BDRSuite’s VM Replication feature lets you replicate business critical VMs from one VMware ESXi host to another host in the same or different site.

VM Failback allows you to seamlessly failback virtual machines (VMs) to the primary production environment that are in failover state, reducing downtime and ensuring business continuity.

How it Works

BDRSuite for VMware provides a VM Replication feature for high availability of VMware vSphere VMs. It allows replication of VM data from the source ESXi host to the target host on a periodic basis. If the source VM becomes temporarily inaccessible due to a disaster, the replica VM can be instantly activated on the target host, allowing production workloads to be redirected.

In this case, when you failover – all operations will be switched to Replica VM and the changes that you make in the replica VM will be stored separately. If you wish to return the workload to the source host along with data created after failover, then you can use the failback feature.

Failback can be performed to the source ESXi host or a different host. If failback is done to a different host, a new VM with the latest modifications will be created for production use. After the failback process is complete, the production VM will start automatically with the latest updates.

Failback is a temporary process and it needs to be finalized based on your requirement.

This option allows you to revert failback process in case you don’t want to continue with the failback VM

This option allows you to finalize the failback operation and make your failback VM as a permanent VM in your production
