Vembu Virtual Drive:

Though quick restores are available, Vembu also resolves customer issues with instantaneous results through Virtual Drive.

  • By default, Vembu Virtual Drive is installed as an additional hard drive during installation of BDR.
  • The space required for Vembu Virtual Drive to function is 512 MB. It can manage TB’s of data expanding exponentially as virtual storage without consuming space on hard drive.
  • Mount/Unmount options are available in Vembu BDR Web-UI along with options on backed up data. With a simple click, backup data listed in virtual drive and can be mounted or unmounted.
  • For effective performance, only one backup can be mounted at a time in virtual drive.

Scenarios of Advantage:

  • When a customer is in instant need of a specific set of files for a function to perform, he can mount the data and have the file copied separately.
  • When image backup of size>1 TB is required, mount option will have your data available in seconds. Image backups when mounted will carry .vhd,.vmdk and .img file extensions. These image files can either be used for VM creation or mounted in disk management based on requirement.
