So Microsoft really had Apple in its mind when they made the launch announcement about their new tablet Surface this week. 

The Surface tablet itself looks solid on the outset but we couldn’t help thinking that this is no mere product announcement rather more of an acknowledgement of Microsoft’s adaptation to the cloud and mobile era to neutralize any potential threat to its traditional software driven business.Here is what we found after we scratched the surface on the current interesting trends:

In recent times, we have been hearing about more and more sensational deals like Facebook gobbling Instagram, Microsoft acquiring Yammer etc. This probably marks the beginning of a new era of mobile computing for people which is characterized by mass displacement of  desktops, laptops etc with mobile and tablet devices. All this makes it simple for consumers to create, collaborate and share with each other.

Emergence of Cloud Services Market for MSPs

Do you know what business model MSPs have been looking at lately for reducing capital expenses drastically? Looks like Cloud Service Providers are providing an answer to cash conscious SMBs by delivering a mix of private cloud, public cloud, traditional hosting and colocation cloud services. This hybrid phenomenon is now becoming more common due to increase in virtualization and cloud technologies adoption. And now service providers have the access to simplified and affordable data center infrastructure at a very attractive price.
