In the past few weeks we have been overwhelmed by the feedback we got from our partners regarding StoreGrid Cloud 4.4. Earlier, I spoke about the new design and integrations. Apart from these there are few more reasons for a partner to cheer up. Let me introduce you all to the seven new plugins that we have released in StoreGrid Cloud 4.4. Apart from the Exchange Server, Exchange Mailbox, SQL Server, SharePoint, Disk Image, VMware, MySQL plugins available in the previous version, we have released few more plugins which will help the MSPs to have a strong hold on their clients. These plugins are not just add ons in the new release but also makes your day to day business activities less complicated.
cPanel Server Backup:
StoreGrid Cloud supports backing up of accounts settings and websites (domains) in a cPanel Server. StoreGrid Cloud agent can backup the entire home directory, MySQL databases, and Email Filter settings. Entire cPanel Server, specific accounts or specific data within an account can be restored. It also offers an interface in the cPanel Management Console for domain users to self manage their restores. You can also recover all the accounts in a single click in case of server crash or recover specific accounts.
Oracle Backup:
Hot backups of databases in Oracle 9i, Oracle 10G and Oracle 11G is now possible with StoreGrid Cloud 4.4. StoreGrid agent uses RMAN (Oracle Recovery Manager), a command-line and Oracle Enterprise Manager-based tool to perform hot backup of the Oracle databases. Administrators can initiate restore operations using their standard tools (Enterprise Manager, scripts, etc.) just as if the backup was stored locally. This can help make restores faster and reduce downtime from hours to minutes in many cases.
PostgreSQL Backup:
Now not only the offline datas are backed up but also with the PostgreSQL backup plugin even the online database server can be backed up. StoreGrid Cloud supports Full and Incremental PostgreSQL database. With advanced tools like PostgreSQL it is now easier to manage chunk of databases as a piece of cake. Databases are restored simply and quickly using an intuitive, point-and-click interface. It eliminates the need for IT admins and helps you to maintain business continuity.
Pervasive Database backup:
Full backup type backs up the entire Pervasive SQL database while the incremental backup type backs up only modified extents since the previous full backup. StoreGrid Cloud uses the DTI API to put the Active Files into Continuous Operation Mode, uploads all database files to the backup server and uses the DTI API to remove the Active Files from Continuous Operation Mode . During full backup, the entire database(s) files are transferred to the backup server. During Incremental backup, only the modified content since the previous full backup transfer to the backup server. Handling the backup and recovery operations for large data warehouses is made easier with Pervasive database backup plugin.
MS-Outlook Backup using MAPI:
In the earlier versions of StoreGrid Cloud, the entire Outlook data is dumped and the difference between the earlier full backup is sent during the incremental backup. But now StoreGrid Cloud supports the option to incrementally backup Outlook. Each incremental backup of Outlook is backed up as a separate PST giving complete control during restore.
Backing up of Virtual Machines:
XenServer Backup:
With the Xen plugin backup support in StoreGrid Cloud, you will be able to add Xen hosts for backing up your VMs on your Linux Distros as well. Supports backup and recovery of any number of virtual machines. XenServer backup users can increase their IT flexibility with ease. Flexibility of any-to-any recovery with unified backup format and restore.
Backing up Hyper-V Virtual Machines and Clustered Hyper-V servers:
StoreGrid Cloud needs to be installed in the Hyper-V Server and it can then centrally backup all the VMs running in that Hyper-V server.StoreGrid Cloud uses Microsoft VSS to make sure the VMs are in a consistent state before backing up. It backs up only the changed data in the VMs during incremental backup. StoreGrid Cloud can backup the data directly to the remote backup server without requiring a temporary storage space in the Hyper-V server that is backed up. Agentless backup and restoration saves you management costs and resources.
All these plugins make StoreGrid Cloud a package to look out for. With mass acceptance of Cloud, plugins available in StoreGrid Cloud 4.4 helps MSPs to meet the requirement of their clients.
