Developers are likely to adopt cloud because of its flexibility which is being showcased by their peers by delivering a lot of new ideas and doing a lot of cool stuffs. Business units claim that cloud can be used readily out of the box which requires no maintenance, particularly the SaaS applications. The finance side of business saves a lot with cloud as they can avoid unnecessary capital expenditure, headcount and budget. The IT on the other hand who used to get nightmares about the security in the cloud have already started showing interest towards its adoption.

So what is happening in the world of channel market/partners? As a MSP, if you are thinking that the cloud is a

[channel killer] and waiting to see the impact of it, then you are definitely late for the race. Most of the MSPs in the market have started offering cloud services so you will end up losing your clients and the market share. The traditional managed services will however be part of the foreseeable future but the adoption of cloud services is supposed to displace a certain proposition in the market.

As a channel partner, you will have to adopt an integrated approach to deliver both the managed services and cloud services, that is, a best of both worlds “solutions” approach to IT. Indeed, it is the same reason why we offer both on-premise and cloud-based option to our partners to help them succeed with their strategies when it comes to offering a file sharing and collaboration solution.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you plan to adopt cloud and make it part of your service portfolio? Let us know in the comments below as we have backup and file sharing solutions tailored for you.
